Spring 2007 OP Newsletter ©

The Spring 2007 newsletter was not only the first newsletter I worked on exclusively, it also marked a major change in the way we put together the quarterly newsletters at the OP. Since my software strength is in Adobe Illustrator, I decided to do the layout for the entire newsletter in Illustrator. We also had moved over to a new printing company which relied on PDFs rather than raw InDesign files. That meant that we no longer had to deal with missing font files, broken links to images, and all the other insanity that went in dealing with raw files. (Why our old printer didn’t use PDFs was beyond me.)
I busted my ass on this project. Since I was the only one working on the illustrations, the page layout, and the design, I had my hands full for over two solid weeks. It was insane, but I think everything worked out very well. I’m very pleased with the way my cover illustration came out, and I’m also pleased with the new look of the newsletter.
