These are why it took her longer to get to Earth from Krypton.

This sketch started out as a single swooping line of non-photo blue pencil. I had no idea where I was taking this drawing when I started, but the longer I drew, the more it revealed Power Girl within the page. I think it’s interesting that she appeared, considering that I don’t read superhero comics. And I certainly don’t read much DC Comics, other than perhaps their Vertigo line.

To know her is to fear her!

This was a commission for a writer friend of mine on Twitter. He wanted me to do an illustration of his two main characters in a steampunk sci-fi story he’s currently working on. You can follow him on Twitter at @SeanMLocke until he gets himself a blog.

This was a fun illustration to do because I got a chance not only to draw some characters who aren’t my own, but also who aren’t in the public awareness (yet).

The Woman of the Snow

I was trying to track down a different Japanese spirit when I happened across Yuki-onna. I really liked the white on white of the spirit of the winter against a snowy backdrop. I tried giving her black hair, but it detracted from the overall design.

Try and Be Cool

This is an illustration I did for a local neighborhood pool in Eugene, Oregon. I was actually one of the volunteers who helped clean up the grounds around the pool a few years ago when the community wanted to reopen the pool. One of my friends is on the community board for the pool, and he hooked me up with a project to stimulate the local economy with a film project. You can see that info here: Try and Be Cool.

I drew the illustration with the idea that it was going to be used for the film project. Oops! It’s no big deal though because the illustration stands on its own just fine. Plus, even without the characters or the background, it’s still a fantastic image. I’m very happy with it.

Fiona Rocks the Blue Hair

When I started getting back into drawing webcomics, I did a little search for other stuff out there that wasn’t “Questionable Content”, and I discovered an awesome comic called “Supernormal Step” by Mike Lunsford. I am really enjoying it so far because it has a healthy dose of urban fantasy that I enjoy so much. Anyway, Mike is celebrating a full year of the comic, so I did a little birthday fan art for him. Jamie and Hazel

This is Jamie and Hazel from Danielle Corsetto’s awesome comic Girls With Slingshots. I love the comic, and there’s no flattery quite like fan art.
